About The Position
Capitol View Home Health Care is hiring compassionate and dependable Home Health Aides (HHAs) for PRN weekend opportunities throughout Washington, DC. This role is ideal for individuals looking to pick up extra hours on Saturdays and Sundays or who prefer weekend work because it fits better with their schedule. We have clients who need reliable caregivers when the weekend arrives. Weekend care matters, and so does having an aide who actually shows up ready to care. If you're dependable, compassionate, and looking for flexible weekend hours, we want to hear from you. Weekend client opportunities may be available throughout Northwest DC, Northeast DC, Southeast DC, and Southwest DC. You do NOT have to cover all of Washington, DC. Tell us where you're willing to work and when you're available on Saturdays and Sundays, and we'll work to match you with available client needs.
Requirements
- Home Health Aide training or certification as required
- Current CPR certification
- Weekend availability required
- Dependable and committed to scheduled assignments
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow an established plan of care
- Ability to work independently in a client's home
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned client locations
Nice To Haves
- Previous home care, personal care, or caregiving experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Toileting and personal care
- Mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Medication reminders as permitted
- Light housekeeping related to client care
- Maintaining a clean and safe home environment
- Companionship and emotional support
- Following the client's established plan of care
- Observing and reporting changes in the client's condition
- Supporting clients with their normal weekend routines
- Helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home
