About The Position

The Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident and family experience through the provision of the nursing care and leadership required to ensure the health and well-being of residents who depend on Grand Living for assistance. In addition to providing direct care and administering medications to residents who have orders from an attending physician to be admitted for Assisted Living care per state regulations, a Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse is responsible for ensuring the evaluation and clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides by participation in orientation, education, teaching and supervision of staff through frequent rounding. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner in all interactions, resulting in a very high level of Resident and team member satisfaction. The Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse position is under the general guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment, required
  • Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to thirty (30) pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Nursing, required.
  • Three or more years’ nursing experience, preferred.
  • Assisted living or home health care experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and leadership to ensure the health and well-being of residents.
  • Administer medications to residents requiring Assisted Living care.
  • Evaluate and ensure the clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides.
  • Participate in orientation, education, teaching, and supervision of staff through frequent rounding.
  • Interact in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner.
  • Ensure the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
