About The Position

Select Medical Rehabilitation Orlando Central is seeking a part-time Clinical Liaison (RN, OT, PT, or SLP) for weekend shifts only, working 20-24 hours per week. This role involves working Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. Clinical liaisons are competent nurses and therapists who understand the business of healthcare. They work in local acute care hospitals, educating patients and families about medical rehabilitation, assessing patients for care needs, reviewing medical records, and coordinating safe transfers to their hospitals. The role focuses on building strong relationships to increase referrals and admissions.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist is required.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in handling the professional/confidential nature of health care sales.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of clinical experience working in a hospital or Acute Rehab setting.
  • Demonstrated competency with the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in a rehabilitation setting or in another post-acute care setting.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing with at least one year of experience in a related position.

Responsibilities

  • Assume a leadership role in developing and nurturing professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care hospitals.
  • Educate staff, patients, and families regarding rehabilitation services provided by the rehabilitation hospital.
  • Assess patients with rehab diagnoses on-site at referring hospitals for admission to the rehab hospital.
  • Manage the referral process.
  • Create target lists of contacts and decision makers in assigned hospitals.
  • Develop relationships, provide excellent customer service, and educate referral sources on services provided by the hospital.
  • Demonstrate positive referrer satisfaction and account retention.
  • Educate potential patients and families on acute rehabilitation and the benefits of the program(s).
  • Distribute collateral materials appropriately.
  • Support Sales and Marketing through educational programs, tours, meetings, etc. in assigned hospitals.
  • Develop strategies to grow market share in core business lines in assigned hospitals.
  • Create quarterly goals and objectives and submit to the supervisor.
  • Work with VP/Director Business Development to identify opportunities for expansion of strategic business initiatives.
