About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. The work schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, glass, walls, and bathrooms; restocking bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of building trash; and, as directed, clearing snow from steps and walkways. Periodic duties may include high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and washing walls. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, energy, and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other indoor surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily, restock paper supplies, and perform standard bathroom cleaning and servicing procedures.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and burned-out lights, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash, place it in approved containers and designated collection areas, and replace liners according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
