Weekend Cleaner
About The Position
The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, performing custodial duties for C&W Services according to established standards, instructions, and procedures. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, fixtures, windows, glass, walls, and bathrooms; restocking paper supplies; collecting and disposing of building trash; and reporting maintenance concerns such as clogged urinals or lights that are out. The role also includes periodic high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, wall washing, and clearing snow from steps and walkways as directed. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Must be able to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other interior surfaces.
- Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
- Vacuum office and public-area rugs, spot clean them daily, and shampoo them when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces; perform periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash entrance-door glass and trim, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers and cleaning bathroom surfaces and floors.
- Monitor for defects, including clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash, place it in approved containers and designated collection areas, and replace waste-basket and trash-container liners according to specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic polishing of leather and wood surfaces and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
