Weekend Camp Counselor
About The Position
The Camp Counselor at Camp Take-A-Break is responsible for providing extended weekend supervision of children adopted through foster care, established by The Baby Fold’s Post-Adoption Services department. This 3rd shift role requires the Camp Counselor to work between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, one to two times per month, year-round. Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Minimum one year experience working with children, preferably ages 5 - 14
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends only, 8-10 weekends per year, including overnight
- Demonstrated competence in serving a culturally diverse population
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse workforce
- Physical ability to maintain the safety and well being of children for whom there is responsibility, including the physical ability to implement The Baby Fold’s approved physical crisis intervention procedures

- Communicates and models appropriate behavior, language and hygiene
- Structures and intervenes in individual and group dynamics to promote growth and self-esteem in children
- Works with adopted children with behavioral and/or emotional issues
