About The Position

This position is with KMC, a metal stamping company. The Brake Press Setup/Operator sets up and operates brake presses and punch presses to form and bend a variety of materials. The role is responsible for part quality and efficiency. Requirements

  • Good math skills; Basic reading & writing skills
  • Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision & depth perception
  • Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work overtime when required

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust, and operate brake press and punch press to form, bend and punch a variety of work
  • Set-up dies and gauges, adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle and radii
  • Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates
  • Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges
  • Sorting and packaging parts
  • Verify quantity & quality of material
  • Moves raw material to and from production areas as necessary
  • Operates overhead crane while moving product
  • Responsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct
  • Other duties as assigned or required
