About The Position

Belmark is seeking a Web-to-Print� Lead Rewind Operator to support the management team in accomplishing Plant productivity goals for the rewind department. Responsibilities include working alongside and leading teams across requisite equipment sets and enhancing safety, quality, and team effectiveness. The production lead will be responsible for maintaining accountability to established company and plant standards, as well as monitoring and directing the structured training of new employees. Belmark creates many of the labels, cartons, pressure sensitive and flexible film that consumers see daily when shopping for various items. A pre-employment drug test and a background check are required if offered the position.

Requirements

  • Requires education equivalent to a high school education, or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to effectively utilize (writing, speaking, reading) the English language.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands in an ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to relate to a diverse group of people and lead/develop them into long-term, skilled employees.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management and operators.
  • Must be able to use a ruler, calculator and various hand tools.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.
  • Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less; identify and distinguish colors; see and identify moving images for color or registration.
  • Ability to use hands and feet to operate machines for 100% of work time; stoop, kneel or crouch for 15% of work time, or walk for 10% of work time.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or less 20% of work time; 50 pounds or less 50% of work time; 75 pounds or less 20% of work time.
  • Eligibility for internal transfers is based on completion of required, overall performance, attendance record, qualifications, and tenure in your current position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for following all safety procedures as required by the role.
  • Nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.

  • Perform all tasks in accordance with applicable safety guidelines.
  • Ensure operators maintain safety standards.
  • Comply with and enforce all Belmark operating procedures, work instructions and food safety requirements.
  • Comply with and enforce Plant 2 policy requirements.
  • Provide training and troubleshooting assistance to all shift rewind operators.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve plant operating conditions, processes and procedures.
  • Supervise quality testing procedures (method and frequency) and ensure all product quality requirements are met during the converting process.
  • Ensure operators are performing their duties according to relevant quality job / work instructions (QJI�s / QWI�s).
  • Maintain optimal consumable levels at all times to maximize production flow.
  • Identify and communicate any shortfalls in consumable materials and required job equipment.
  • Prepare and stage necessary job components/paperwork for jobs at the rewind step.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of rewind production procedures and processes (product knowledge, machine operation, etc.).
  • Conduct required job quality checks in accordance with Belmark and Plant 2 policies.
  • Monitor work for defects.
  • Perform all actions of operators in their absence including during breaks.
  • Oversee the production area under your responsibility 75% or greater of the time, maintaining a physical presence to address team member issues related to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Provide continuous, timely performance feedback to employees and management in support of daily operations and performance reviews.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
