About The Position

The Production Worker / Packaging Operator role requires performing two primary functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. The operator must maintain the ability to perform both functions as determined by the Shift Leads. Responsibilities include operating machinery productively following safety guidelines, assisting other production areas as needed, moving and wrapping completed products, and maintaining a clean workstation. This is a full-time position with a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Requirements

Will be lifting up to 50 lbs.
Standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
Pass the company forklift training.
Required to read and interpret scales.
Requires mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust the weight and timing of baler and various other simple maintenance problems.
Requires the ability to do simple math calculations.
Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform the bagging operation.
Perform the baler operation.
Maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads.
Operate machinery in a productive manner using the established safety guidelines and procedures.
Assist other production areas, as needed.
Move and wrap completed products.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
Maintain a clean workstation.
Operate a variety of machinery, primarily bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer (for Bagging Operation).
Stack bags on pallets (for Bagging Operation).
Put covers on pallets (for Bagging Operation).
Place finished goods in the correct warehouse location (for Bagging Operation).
Accurately complete the Bagger production report (for Bagging Operation).
Fill pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information (for Bagging Operation).
Tag pallet with Quality Control tag with initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed (for Bagging Operation).
Stack bales on pallets (for Baler Operation).
Seal bales with an iron (for Baler Operation).
Wrap pallets (for Baler Operation).
Accurately complete the Baler Operator production report (for Baler Operation).
Check bale weight (for Baler Operation).
Record information on various reports and quality control tags (for Baler Operation).
Other duties as assigned.
