About The Position

AttainX is seeking a Web Software Developer II to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Infrastructure and Risk Modeling Environment (IRME). This role supports project management through graphic design, publication, web-enabled materials, user interface assessment, and communication of system capabilities. The designer helps make risk modeling information, modernization plans, and training materials clear and accessible.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in web design, computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2–4 years of related experience in web software development, web application development, or a comparable technical role.
  • Experience designing and implementing web interfaces.
  • Experience with wireframes, prototypes, navigation, information architecture, and responsive layouts.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and approved front-end frameworks.
  • Ability to translate user requirements into consistent, usable interfaces and reusable components.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility, accessible interaction patterns, and usability testing.
  • Experience collaborating with developers on APIs, web services, dashboards, and data visualization.
  • Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA IRME Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Federal interface design, geospatial visualization, and DHS Trusted Tester experience or certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide graphic design and publishing support for reports, graphics, presentations, and web-enabled documents.
  • Review current web interfaces and user workflows with stakeholders; document usability concerns, pain points, and modernization needs.
  • Translate user requirements into candidate interface concepts, wireframes, and prototypes for stakeholder review and requirements definition.
  • Develop accessible visual materials explaining system capabilities, risk analytics workflows, geospatial information, and modernization options.
  • Support feature announcements, broadcast messages, outreach materials, and communication plans using approved branding and publication practices.
  • Develop and maintain visual elements for training materials and user guides; assist with webinars, tutorials, and technical demonstrations.
  • Apply Section 508 accessibility and plain language practices to interface concepts, publications, graphics, and training materials.
  • Coordinate with analysts, developers, and Government reviewers to validate content, incorporate feedback, and maintain requirements traceability.
  • Document design decisions, stakeholder feedback, proposed interface changes, and approved publication assets in knowledge repositories.
  • Support modernization success measures by gathering user feedback and helping assess usability and adoption.
