About The Position

Vericast is seeking a Web Press Operator for the 2nd shift to operate web presses as directed by the press operator. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operation of the press, coordinating with internal agencies for required materials, and ensuring the accuracy of printed material. The position is in a year-round temperature-controlled, bright, and clean manufacturing printing team-based environment.

Requirements

Excellent work habits and willingness to be a team player.
Minimum 3 years offset/web printing experience preferred.
Ability to identify colors and imperfections.
Proven track record in waste reduction and profit improvement.
Ability to determine if a roll of paper is in good condition.
Ability to ensure stock being produced meets quality specifications.
Ability to perform basic operations of the equipment in good working order.
High Mechanical Reasoning Expectations.

Responsibilities

Daily operation of web presses as directed by the press operator.
Maintain cleanliness and operation of press.
Coordinate with internal agencies for required materials (ink, paper, tape, etc.).
Ensure accuracy of printed material coming from the press.
Perform press start-up procedures, including daily/weekly maintenance and safety checks.
Operate machines, including print unit setup, numbering unit setup, process unit setup, and delivery unit setup.
Conduct quality inspections before, during, and after printing.
Perform clean-up and shut down procedures at the end of the shift.
Communicate effectively with relevant departments.
