About The Position

Verisign is seeking a Level IV software engineer for its Web Portals team. The role involves all aspects of product development, including ideation, design, implementation, deployment, and issue resolution. The team operates customer- and internal-facing web applications that allow customers to manage Verisign products and accounts. Its applications use ReactJS for user interfaces, Spring Boot for business logic, and PostgreSQL for data persistence. The team also maintains shared React components based on Material-UI design principles for Verisign websites and applications. Applications currently run in an OpenStack-based cloud environment and are expected to migrate to Kubernetes-based infrastructure. The engineer will help develop, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot production-grade software, with a focus on full-stack Java and React development and Kubernetes/containerized applications. The role calls for knowledge of cloud-native architecture and portable application and deployment patterns across Kubernetes and hybrid cloud environments. The team works with Agile practices, Jira, internal GitHub and pull-request reviews, Jenkins pipelines, Ansible, Terraform, and automated testing. The job description says experience with these tools is beneficial and that Amazon EKS or other managed Kubernetes platforms is highly desirable. Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of hands-on Java and React coding experience in full-stack production applications.
At least 3 years designing, developing, and maintaining deployment automation for Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, and reusable patterns.
Practical knowledge of databases, including PostgreSQL, schema design, queries, and performance.
Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including core Computer Science concepts, software architecture, and hands-on problem-solving.
Experience developing, deploying, and supporting production-grade software.
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications, including deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of cloud-native application architecture and experience designing applications and deployment patterns portable across Kubernetes and hybrid cloud environments.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Amazon EKS or another managed Kubernetes platform.
Experience with tools mentioned for the team, including Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.
Equivalent technical expertise and experience gained through career paths other than a bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of hands-on work.

Responsibilities

Participate in all stages of product development, including ideation, design, implementation, deployment, and issue resolution.
