About The Position

Stride is seeking a Web Developer to work with others to help deliver leading edge software solutions that drive the K-12 education industry. We use Agile/Scrum as both a methodology and a mindset. Prior Agile experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. The core responsibilities include: Collaborate with teammates as well as other parts of the organization to complete assigned tasks; Design, develop, test, and document software to accomplish assigned goals; Participate in team stand-ups and ceremonies; Prepare documentation as needed to communicate and advocate ideas and report findings; Demonstrates an understanding of business, needs and business goals; Create and prepare various content, presentations and materials as needed Execute tasks by utilizing various technologies and platforms specific to the business; Provides additional support to the team as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field, or equivalent training
  • 1-2 years of experience with theme and plugins development for Content Management Systems like WordPress and Drupal
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience programming in PHP/WordPress
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
  • Excited about creating well-designed products for education
  • Passion for learning new skills and technologies
  • Demonstrated record of turning ideas into working software
  • Ability to decompose complex problems and solve them iteratively
  • Willingness and ability to listen effectively, respect others’ perspectives and contributions, and offer and accept constructive feedback
  • Proficient in Office 365 and willingness to learn online tools & utilities (e.g. Jira, SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Web proficiency, including basic understanding of HTTP request/response cycle
  • Ability to clear required background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in both front and back-end development for WordPress
  • Experience with front-end web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX
  • Experience with server-side programming rnlanguages specifically PHP, and interfacing with multiple backend APIs and Microservices
  • Well versed with data caching and MySQL as it relates to WordPress
  • Understanding of web design principles and user experience best practices
  • Experience with website analytics and monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as SASS and LESS
  • Knowledge of front-end development tools such as Webpack, Parcel, Babel, Gulp, and Grunt
  • Understanding of responsive web design, accessibility, and SEO best practices
  • Experience with Git version control system
  • Prior Agile experience is beneficial but not mandatory

Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
