About The Position

Inline & Ice Warehouse is seeking a versatile Web Content Editor to create compelling product descriptions, engaging web content, and impactful social media content, with a strong emphasis on hockey. Extensive hockey knowledge is required. This role develops trend-driven content across all digital channels, manages posting calendars, partners with creative teams, and appears in photo and video features and how-to content - especially for gear and products in these key categories. You’ll research and write clear, accurate product information, support website merchandising, maintain a consistent brand voice, and apply SEO best practices. Looking for a creative storyteller with strong communication, organizational, on-camera skills and a passion for hockey.

Requirements

  • Extensive hockey knowledge is required, including familiarity with hockey equipment, apparel, terminology, player positions, leagues, brands, and current industry trends. The ideal candidate should be able to confidently create accurate, engaging, and informative content tailored to hockey players, parents, and fans across all skill levels. A strong understanding of the hockey community and culture is essential to effectively communicate with our target audience and produce authentic, relevant product content.

Responsibilities

  • Write original product descriptions that clearly and accurately communicate key features and benefits, align with brand voice and content guidelines, and reflect customer needs and expectations.
  • Accurately obtain, research, and document technical product details, including measurements and specifications, ensuring consistency and clarity.
  • Assist in creating and editing engaging website articles and written content that support the web content strategy, increase traffic, and enhance brand visibility.
  • Support website merchandising by organizing products within category and portal page structures, maintaining accurate listings, updating images, and ensuring an optimal online presentation.
  • Maintain ongoing product information, including categories, images, and display details, ensuring alignment with brand standards and user experience best practices.
  • Participate in video production tasks for the website, including planning, scripting, and on-camera involvement, as assigned.
  • Coordinate and source images and graphics for use across the website and digital platforms, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure cohesive visual presentation.
  • Edit written content and contribute constructive feedback during the creation of images, graphics, and videos to maintain content quality and alignment with brand standards.
  • Participate in and adhere to workflow processes using platforms such as Asana and Microsoft Teams to manage tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Support the development and maintenance of online tools and customer-facing resources to improve usability and engagement.
  • Consistently uphold content standards by ensuring all materials: Address the key information customers seek, Incorporate SEO best practices for visibility, Are engaging, clear, polished, and error-free, Reflect the appropriate brand voice and tone, Use formatting that enhances readability and user experience, Meet all project deadlines and workflow timelines.
  • Develop unique, creative content that identifies and leverages emerging trends to attract, engage, and grow target audiences.
  • Write scripts and appear in video content, including instructional how-to videos and product features.
  • Maintain social media project timelines and content calendars using Asana.
  • Collaborate closely with photo and video production teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging.
  • Engage with vendors and affiliates to maximize reach, engagement, and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with influencers, coordinating contests, giveaways, and other promotional initiatives.
  • Respond to customer inquiries across social channels in alignment with company policies, procedures, core values, and brand voice.
  • Promptly notify supervisors of any website or service issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills in all digital interactions.
  • Actively engage on social media accounts through posting, liking, and commenting to grow community presence.
  • Oversee the publishing and presentation of customer reviews to support a positive user experience.
  • Coordinate or facilitate the distribution of prizes for drawings and giveaways.
  • Coordinate or facilitate the receiving and shipping of product samples for uses such as description writing, website or social imagery, and product testing.
  • Test various products, evaluating user experience and providing detailed feedback through the company website and video reviews.
  • Assess the target customer for each product, determine its alignment with the intended audience, and identify the most suitable audience if there is a mismatch.
  • Assist with creating product files in POS software.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of products and brands to effectively communicate their functions, features, and benefits through written content and video presentations.
  • Participate in vendor sell-in meetings and training sessions as needed to stay informed about new product launches and updates.
  • Lead new product or product category training, as assigned.
  • Evaluate the user experience for various products and provide detailed feedback through the company website or via video reviews.
