About The Position

WTVO 17 and WQRF FOX 39 in Rockford, IL, are now accepting applications for internships within their weather/news department. Interns will work alongside the meteorologist on duty to put together forecasts for both on-air and online. They will gain hands-on experience with building weather graphics, writing up daily weather articles, participating in newsroom meetings, and assisting with other duties as necessary within the newsroom.

Requirements

• Must receive college course credit.
• Possess strong communication skills.
• Willingness to learn.
• Dependable.
• Able to communicate well with others.
• Able to work flexible hours and varying schedules including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Desire to go into broadcast meteorology.
