About The Position

Tessera is seeking an outstanding and knowledgeable Weapons Repair Specialist with a professional attitude. This role involves efficiently repairing, overhauling, and rebuilding small arms for both conventional uses and for weapons involving accurization. The specialist will conduct initial inspections, disassemble, repair, and replace components, and perform operational tests and training. A key aspect of the role is performing inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing all designated supported weapons, as well as conducting preventative maintenance checks and detailed cleaning to restore weapons to serviceable condition. The specialist must verify proper weapon function after repair and document all work performed. A deep understanding of weapon systems, firing mechanisms, and operational safety requirements is essential. The role also requires strict adherence to AR 190-51 procedures governing the security of arms, ammunition, and sensitive items, enforcing controlled entry to the weapons repair shop, and ensuring restricted access to authorized personnel only. Safe transport of weapons in compliance with installation policy and AR 190-51 escort, packaging, and routing rules is also required. All weapons entering the shop must be cleared, verified safe, and tagged before work begins.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of small arms/towed artillery experience is required.
  • Must have experience in small arms, mechanical repair, armor duties, or related technical work.
  • Must have a high degree of working independently.
  • Experience with using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and gauges is required.
  • Experience with inspecting and diagnosing weapon conditions is required.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check, mandatory drug screening, and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
