About The Position

As a Wealth Strategist, you'll work closely with CIBC Private Banking Advisors, CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors, and CIBC Private Investment Counselors to support high net worth clients. These clients often require specialized expertise due to the complexity and scale of their financial needs. You'll take the time to understand each client's unique situation and collaborate with our advisors to provide tailored recommendations that help optimize and grow their wealth. You'll develop a holistic and integrated wealth management strategy, bringing together investment management, estate planning, tax planning, retirement planning, and other solutions to ensure all aspects work seamlessly toward achieving your clients' goals. The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $92,490 to $120,000. The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles. In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program. Requirements

  • Expert financial planner.
  • Superior financial planning skills and proven success in developing comprehensive financial plans for HNW and UHNW clients.
  • Extensive experience working with High Net Worth clients.
  • Successfully completed the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Law or Accounting with a financial planning base would be a huge asset.
  • Other designations such as CPA, CA, CMA, LLB. TEP and FEA are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial plans that meet existing and prospective client’s needs and objectives for HNW clients (minimum $5 million in investible assets) by leveraging internal CIBC expertise.
  • Work with the client’s other external advisors as appropriate (i.e. lawyers and accountants) in gathering and validating information to support development of plans and recommendations.
  • Work proactively with Investment Advisors, Private Banking Advisors and Private Investment Counselors to lead the development of an integrated financial plan for new and existing HNW clients.
  • Assemble a multi-disciplined team to develop innovative domestic and global solutions for the client’s personal and business needs (banking, investing, estate and trust planning, tax minimization, education, business valuation, sale of a business, charitable giving etc.).
  • Make an impact in your community, and show clients they’re appreciated by engaging in marketing and outreach activities.
  • Play an active role in the acquisition and retention of HNW clients through proactive networking.
  • Build and sustain a network of experts (lawyers, accountants, tax experts, etc.) who can be leveraged to support the development of complex financial plans and identify potential referral sources for clients.
