About The Position

Leads and manages assigned staff within the Greater NY City/Tri-state area of Wealth Management. Represents Wilmington Trust in working in collaboration with the Commercial, Business and Private Banking teams to expand brand recognition and business opportunities in a specific market for wealthy clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 11 years’ related wealth management, investment, trust or estate planning experience working with complex tax and legal issues, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 15 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 11 years’ related wealth management, investment, trust or estate planning experience working with complex tax and legal issues
  • Minimum of 4 years’ managerial experience

Nice To Haves

  • MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or JD (Juris Doctor)
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CTFA (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor) or similar certification

Responsibilities

  • Direct and participate in the development and management of wealth client relationships with individuals, business owners and families.
  • Work closely with families and their advisors to ensure the relationship is handled efficiently and effectively in the delivery of services to these relationships.
  • Refer client requests for additional products to the appropriate sales specialist within the organization.
  • Provide sales leadership and manages the sales process for assigned team.
  • Establish team goals and track their performance.
  • Represent the Bank in civic and community activities.
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
