About The Position

Responsible for soliciting new trust business from present and prospective customers. This role involves participating with the Senior Trust Officer in establishing specific goals for trust personnel, ensuring the department's compliance with operating policies and procedures for the trust sales function, and directly supervising assigned personnel. The Wealth Advisor will also communicate with appropriate management and staff personnel and provide periodic reports.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field, or equivalent education and work-related experience.
  • Completion of Cannon Trust Schools I, II, and III or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Completion of approved trust sales training.
  • Series 7 Brokerage license.
  • Sales management training.
  • Ability to generate a minimum of $50,000 new revenue per year.
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations regarding trust and estate administration.
  • Visual and auditory skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in related positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Life Insurance license preferred.
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate Bank Product Knowledge Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Solicits new trust business from present and prospective customers.
  • Cultivates internal and external referral sources and Centers of Influence.
  • Develops and maintains a calling program for the existing book of business.
  • Provides financial calculations as part of the sales process.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Maintains knowledge of current laws and regulations regarding trust and estate administration.
  • Develops and executes direct mail campaigns and cold call programs to identify qualified prospects.
  • Conducts seminars and presentations as part of the sales effort.
  • Provides assistance to other bank and trust employees as requested.
  • Maintains timely and accurate records.
  • Provides administrative support for selected relationships.
  • Maintains current and proficient knowledge of the investment policy, products, and procedures.
  • Assists with the initial investment/design of new account portfolios.
  • Participates in community activities related to primary duties.
  • Cross sells all bank products and services as appropriate.
  • Serves on the Trust Investment Committee.
  • Participates with the Senior Trust Officer in establishing specific goals for trust personnel and implements strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures to promote an environment free of harassment and illegal discriminatory behavior.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports adherence to internal policies, procedures, and practices for risk management, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., CRA, BSA, ECOA, FINRA).
  • Directly supervises assigned personnel, including assisting in selection, providing orientation and training, reviewing performance, organizing and distributing work, keeping personnel informed of policies, and administering personnel policies.
  • Communicates with the Senior Trust Officer, other department managers, and appropriate staff personnel to integrate goals and activities.
  • Provides periodic reports to the Senior Trust Officer and other groups as required.
  • Performs supportive tasks that may be altered depending on individual circumstances.
