About The Position

WBG Pioneers, the World Bank Group’s Internship Program, offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high impact learning experience at the heart of global development. Participants gain hands on experience in a diverse and dynamic environment, contribute fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, and connect with international professionals working to end poverty on a livable planet. The Governance Global Department, within the World Bank Group's Prosperity Vice-Presidency (Prosperity VPU), is responsible for issues related to public financial and investment management, procurement, standards and codes around transparent financial management in public and private sectors, corporate governance, state-owned enterprises, corporate financial reporting, fiduciary assurance, and governance in sectors. The Department also leads the global engagement program on addressing cross-cutting challenges such as climate change, gender equality, and digitalization for which fiscal policies and PFM systems are an important component of the appropriate policy response. The Governance Global Department administers the Financial Management Umbrella Program (FMUP). The FMUP is a multi-donor trust fund program that supports client countries in achieving sustainable, transparent, and accountable management of public financial resources. FMUP provides grants for technical assistance, analytical work, and capacity building across three thematic modules: Module 1 – Managing Public Finances, Module 2 – Financial Reporting and Auditing, and Module 3 – Public-Private Sector Interface. To support the operational needs of FMUP, the Fiduciary Systems (Public Financial Management) Global Unit seeks an intern to provide support on communication and visibility.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, postgraduate (master’s) program
  • Candidates must have 0 - 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description
  • Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Help to maintain up to date information on FMUP website including FMUP sponsored events
  • Support the collection of information/quotes from the field (for use on FMUP website, for newsletter, and for program promotion purposes)
  • Support the preparation of result/impact stories from FMUP grants, newsletters, and other outreach activities
  • Support the preparation of FMUP sponsored events
  • Support the development of short video clips from result stories for dissemination purpose
  • Support the preparation and design of ppts for FMUP related meetings
  • Provide other support related to communication and visibility as requested by the task team
