Under the supervision of the Production Area Lead, the Wax Finisher position is accountable for the final finishing of wax and wax/plastic patterns. This involves three main areas of responsibility: removing flash, repairing defects, and smoothing blends. The role requires repairing defects in pattern assemblies without changing their contour or shape by using wax as the filling material. It also includes dressing of pour cups, attaching finished patterns to trees, and attaching pour cups to pattern gating. If performing gating work, assembly of plastic or wax cross arms and vent plugs must be completed. The position also involves reporting by data entry of finished pieces into the computer inventory system, preparation of cores (if working on IGT patterns), and blue sealing if working on plastic/wax patterns.
