This position is responsible for leading high-value, complex water/wastewater projects in the New Jersey region, ensuring high-quality delivery across scope, schedule, and budget. The role involves initiating the project life cycle by identifying leads and driving marketing efforts in targeted growth areas. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will spearhead business development initiatives and actively support the strategic growth of the region. This includes providing strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams while ensuring all project activities align with JMT’s organizational goals. Compensation is $180,000 to $205,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and licensure. Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Professional Engineering License in New Jersey
  • Business development experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk-averse project scope and fee.
  • Develop project-specific project plans, including Project Management Plans/Quality Management Plans.
  • Create and maintain project schedules.
  • Manage subconsultants.
  • Monitor and execute project progress, including identifying and mitigating risks, developing extra work order requests, and open-end contract task proposals.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and lead project status presentations.
  • Coordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality outcome.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge and experience with the client and project type to analyze the project, anticipate potential risks (such as overruns and scope changes), and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Implement strategies for project tracking and reporting by using project performance metrics to foresee and mitigate issues.
  • Build relationships with client(s) to understand preferences and requirements to set-up and execute a quality project.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of clients and other industry stakeholders.
  • Identify leads with targeted clients for development and execution into contract opportunities.
  • Assist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process, including SMART Go/No-Go decisions, proposal development, interviews, and developing a win strategy.
  • Collaborate with Section Head and Office Leader on identifying leads and opportunities based on strategic goals.
  • Assist Section Head and Office Leader with developing strategic goals based on client's program information, etc.
  • Participate in office’s project financial status meetings.
  • Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the project team through one-on-one check-ins and various project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned.
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
