About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Civil Project Engineer to support water/wastewater-focused civil engineering projects and lead design efforts for low- to moderate-complexity work while collaborating with senior staff on larger, high-complexity assignments. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions and client guidance through analysis, design, field inspections, reporting, permitting, and site drainage and grading design. You will also help manage project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. In Civil, you will be part of a team with experience spanning municipal engineering, land development, utilities, and water/wastewater management. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience minimum required in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in the civil engineering field
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Ability to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • 4 years of experience preferred in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry
  • Ability to travel up to 15% preferred with occasional overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts and analysis for civil site design projects across municipal, commercial, residential and industrial developments
  • Complete and oversee permit applications for various water and wastewater projects in coordination with the team, client, and reviewing jurisdiction.
  • Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Complete and oversee permit applications in coordination with municipalities, clients, and reviewing jurisdictions
  • Perform surface modeling, watershed modeling, storm sewer design, sanitary sewer design, site drainage, and grading design
  • Conduct field inspections and support projects through bidding and construction administration
  • Build client relationships by gathering project requirements and communicating technical information effectively
  • Collaborate with engineers, consultants, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated project solutions
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Document design decisions, client instructions, and project progress, including percent complete and fee expended
  • Analyze engineering problems, develop practical and efficient solutions, interpret applicable state and local design criteria, and identify potential issues for escalation to the Project Manager
