About The Position

Burgess & Niple is hiring a licensed Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role involves planning and designing collection systems, distribution systems, pumping and storage facilities, and water, wastewater, and reuse treatment facilities. The engineer will serve as a technical resource for clients and project teams, coordinate project delivery, maintain quality, support business development, and mentor developing engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the state of employment, or ability to obtain registration through reciprocity.
• 4–10 years of experience in water/wastewater collection, distribution, pumping systems, storage, treatment, and utility infrastructure design.
• Experience with utility district and municipality clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Adaptable and self-motivated, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Servant leadership, with a commitment to collaboration, innovation, excellence, and developing others.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Utility Work by Highway Contractor (UWHC).
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software.
• Revit experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including gravity sewers, force mains, lift stations, water mains, booster stations, storage facilities, and treatment facilities.
• Coordinate with internal and external project teams to resolve utility conflicts and support project delivery.
• Maintain quality control of plans, specifications, and other deliverables.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Participate in business development and proposal preparation.
• Mentor and develop emerging engineers.
