Water/Wastewater Design Engineer
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a career-minded engineer to join their Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice. This role involves assisting with engineering designs in the Water/Wastewater field by applying knowledge of design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes. The engineer will manage multiple design projects simultaneously, developing, analyzing, and documenting critical design elements. The selected candidate will work on projects including water main designs, water distribution, vault designs, flow monitoring, development reviews, comprehensive water and sewer plans, Water/Wastewater treatment, and pump station projects. The position requires providing quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision to support project objectives and ensure customer satisfaction, delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. Immigration sponsorship is not available, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes in the Water/Wastewater field
- Ability to conduct multiple design projects simultaneously
- Ability to develop, analyze and document critical design elements
- Ability to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision
- Experience commensurate with education and certifications

Responsibilities
- Assist with alternative studies
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to complete a task
- Perform design computations
- Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
- Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
- Perform other related duties as assigned
