A career-minded engineer, looking towards advancement, is needed to join JMT’s fast-growing Water/Wastewater consultant engineering practice. Employee will assist with engineering designs in the Water/Wastewater field through working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes; conduct multiple design projects simultaneously; and develop, analyze and document critical design elements. The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting water main designs, water distribution projects, large vault designs, flow monitoring, development reviews, and comprehensive water and sewer plans, Water/Wastewater treatment, and pump station projects. Employee is expected to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision to support the project team’s objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects, delivering projects of high quality on schedule and within budget. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes
  • Ability to conduct multiple design projects simultaneously
  • Ability to develop, analyze and document critical design elements
  • Ability to provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with adequate supervision
  • Ability to support the project team’s objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects
  • Ability to deliver projects of high quality on schedule and within budget
  • Eligible for TN visa classification (immigration sponsorship is not available otherwise)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with alternative studies
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to complete a task
  • Perform design computations
  • Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
