About The Position

The Water Treatment Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the District’s water treatment systems and related equipment. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding water quality and safety. The technician will perform routine inspections, testing, and adjustments to maintain optimal system performance and water purity. This position is part of the Maintenance Department and works on a 12-month schedule with 8-hour workdays.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in water treatment operations or a related field.
Valid Nevada Driver’s License.
Ability to obtain a Nevada State Water Treatment Operator Grade 2 certification within one year of employment.
Knowledge of water treatment processes, chemicals, and equipment.
Proficiency in water quality testing and analysis.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Nevada State Water Treatment Operator Grade 2 certification.
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain water treatment systems and related equipment.
Perform routine inspections, testing, and adjustments to water treatment systems.
Monitor water quality parameters and ensure compliance with regulations.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with water treatment equipment.
Maintain accurate records of system operations, maintenance, and water quality tests.
Respond to emergency situations related to water systems.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments as needed.
Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
