About The Position

With safety as our guiding principle, MacLellan Integrated Services performs critical process cleaning for its clients. We are seeking a Water Treatment Technician who is a subject matter expert in operating water treatment plant equipment to ensure reliability, economy, and compliance with all effluent requirements at the site. This role involves monitoring and adjusting plant operations, including specific chemical treatment processes using pumps, valves, motors, and chemical feed systems. Key processes include batch tank treatment of process wastewater, clarification, plate and frame sludge processing, pH control, sand filter operation, reverse osmosis system, skid mounted clean-in-place systems, E-coat treatment, oil separation, and paint sludge systems. The technician will also manage chemical feed pumps, sludge bag removal, and water testing. This position requires a passion for providing exceptional customer service and working collaboratively with the team to identify and eliminate waste.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience performing work using a cartridge type respirator
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend throughout the shift
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to hold and operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in hot and damp environments, wear heavy PPE, climb stairs, push equipment, and stand/walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Operate water treatment plant equipment to ensure reliability, economy, and compliance with all effluent requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust plant operation, including specific chemical treatment processes using pumps, valves, motors, and chemical feed systems.
  • Manage batch tank treatment of process wastewater.
  • Oversee clarification processes.
  • Operate plate and frame sludge processing.
  • Control pH levels.
  • Operate sand filters.
  • Manage reverse osmosis systems.
  • Operate skid mounted clean-in-place systems.
  • Manage E-coat treatment.
  • Oversee oil separation.
  • Manage paint sludge systems, including chemical feed pumps and sludge bag removal.
  • Perform water testing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Engage with the team to identify and eliminate waste.
