About The Position

Momar, Inc., a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturing company based in Atlanta, GA, is currently seeking a Water Treatment Technician to join our Momar family in Southern, CA. Reporting to the Service Team Engineering Manager, the Water Treatment Technician will be responsible for performing water testing, troubleshooting various feed and control equipment, visiting customer sites, building customer relationships and maintaining paperwork for customer files. THE WATER TREATMENT SERVICE TECHNICIAN SERVICES AND MANAGES INDUSTRIAL WATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TERRITORY. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE WATER TESTING, CHEMICAL TREATMENT MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING EQUIPMENT, AND ON-SITE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. THE ROLE REQUIRES STRONG HVAC WATER TREATMENT EXPERTISE, THE ABILITY TO MANAGE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS, AND REGULAR TRAVEL WITHIN THE ASSIGNED TERRITORY.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record and experience in roles requiring extensive driving.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms, on rooftops, and at elevated heights.
  • Ability to discern colors as part of color-based water treatment testing (essential job function).
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry over 55 pounds unassisted and safely move heavy equipment using appropriate tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word and spreadsheet applications.
  • Willingness to submit to a Federal background and security check upon offer of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) or more years of industrial HVAC water treatment experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with: Cooling towers, Steam boiler chemical treatment systems, Process water loops, Feed and control equipment
  • Prior experience as a service technician managing multiple customer accounts within a designated territory.
  • Experience building and maintaining customer relationships in a service-based environment.
  • Regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 55 lbs.
  • Frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers for handling and feeling items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications or technical training related to water treatment, HVAC, or mechanical systems are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate and drive a service vehicle throughout the Southern California territory.
  • Perform routine and diagnostic water testing on assigned systems.
  • Set up and maintain chemical treatment programs at point-of-use locations.
  • Provide daily customer care, including meetings with on-site client managers and explaining service results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system issues.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and customer records.
  • Travel 100% of the time to client locations within the designated territory.
