About The Position

Maintains the operation with the Bargersville Water Treatment Plant and assists in mechanical repairs to supply clean and safe drinking water to the public.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience and pursue WT1 within 2 years
• Demonstrated ability of reasonable mechanical skills
• Basic knowledge of computers for data entry
• Effective communication skills and fluency in English, verbal and written
• Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl
• Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold
• Working near moving mechanical parts
• Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Produce water to maintain a safe level of water throughout the water system
• Test water to ensure water quality meets the limits set by IDEM and EPA
• Adjust chemicals and equipment as needed to meet these requirements
• Monitor the levels of towers and booster pumps
• Maintain proper levels of sand in spiractors and backwash iron filters
• Order chemicals and supplies as needed
• Perform preventative plant maintenance and emergency maintenance
• Record daily readings of flow and test results accurately
• Operate forklift or front loader
• Complete other duties as assigned
