Water Treatment Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of its water treatment plant. The operator monitors and adjusts treatment processes, conducts water-quality analyses, maintains plant equipment, responds to alarms, records operating data, and helps ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The position is on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The stated wage is $18.50 per hour; compensation depends on the selected candidate’s experience. Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and plumbing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
Nice To Haves
- Background in water treatment.
- Experience with PVC, CPVC, and black steel pipe.
Responsibilities
- Monitor water treatment plant operations, including gauges, flowmeters, charts, and system control computers.
- Conduct water analyses, including hardness, alkalinity, pH, turbidity, and chlorine residual tests.
- Determine and adjust chemical feed rates to maintain appropriate treatment levels.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, piping, filtration systems, and other plant equipment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and equipment or system issues.
- Record treatment plant operating data and distribution system pressures, tank levels, and flow rates.
- Ensure plant operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures.
