WR Trades Associate I, II, and III - Investigations

About The Position

This position is responsible for investigating assets in the Water Resources department. Employees in this group generally work independently (solo) performing site visits to determine issues with assets and/or a customer related issue. Employees interact face to face with customers assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Georgia commercial driver's license (CDL) must be obtained within 1 year
  • Two years of related work experience (for Associate II)
  • Four years of related work experience (for Associate III)
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency (for Associate III)
  • Confined Space Certification must be obtained within 6 months (for Associate II)
  • Confined Space Certification must be obtained within 12 months (for Associate III)
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate must be obtained within 6 months (for Associate III)
  • Road Flagging Certificate must be obtained within 12 months (for Associate III)
  • Trenching and Excavation Certificate must be obtained within 12 months (for Associate III)
  • Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection License must be obtained within 12 months (for Associate III)

Nice To Haves

  • Serving as a lead to lower staff and is proficient in most areas of assignment; some positions may supervise limited staff or serve as a lead worker in the absence of the supervisor (for Associate III)

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting equipment and materials in the field for proper installation, preventative maintenance, and potential problems or hazards
  • Using specialized equipment and computers to analyze data and enter fieldwork requests and work orders.
  • Assisting customers with on-site questions and concerns regarding utility services
  • Completing forms and reporting detailed activities and findings.
  • Investigating, researching, calling/meeting customer onsite to discuss finding.
  • Maintaining and stocking assigned vehicles with necessary equipment and materials used to complete tasks.
  • Working in confined spaces as well as continuous squatting, kneeling, lifting and excavating with shovels and other hand tools.
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature or level
  • Serving as a liaison between the County and citizens while coordinating utility repair
