About The Position

You will collaborate closely with teams in Environment & Business, Permitting, and Operations to understand emerging licensing policy issues. You will offer specialized water resources licensing advice to both internal departments and external clients and partners.

Requirements

Specialist water resources licensing advice.
Experience in supporting policy development.
Ability to resolve technical queries.
Experience in reviewing and maintaining process guidance and tools.
Experience in reviewing training needs and delivering training.
Knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations.
Experience in providing licensing advice for regulatory changes.
Active participation in relevant groups.
Experience in reviewing licence applications and determinations.
Willingness to undertake incident roles or provide business continuity support.

Responsibilities

Support development of new policies and processes.
Resolve and answer technical water resources regulation helpdesk queries.
Review and maintain existing process guidance and tools to ensure they are fit for purpose.
Review training needs, prepare and deliver training courses.
Provide licensing advice for the proposed move to the Environmental Permitting Regulations and for any changes in regulation resulting from the proposed new water regulator.
Be an active member of the WR Senior Permitting Officer group, Permitting Advisory group and Permitting Governance group; providing licensing advice, and support to improve our processes.
Review and provide advice on our own water resources licence applications and on complex licence determinations.
Respond to incidents, which is central to our operations. You will be required to have an incident role or provide business continuity support during an incident.
