Barr is seeking a water resources monitoring technician to join our Minneapolis team. The person in this position will work with a diverse team of engineers and scientists, completing water resources and related technical field assignments. The person in this position will provide field-based technical support for the organization’s water resources monitoring program. The role focuses on assisting with the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of water quality and hydrologic monitoring efforts across stormwater systems, streams, ponds, wetlands, lakes, and reservoirs. The position is primarily field-oriented, with additional responsibilities related to instrumentation oversight, data quality assurance, and contributing technical expertise to planning and analysis efforts. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on field experience, strong problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and demonstrated expertise with surface water monitoring instrumentation and field methods. This role functions as a field technician and technical resource for water resources monitoring activities. Fieldwork may involve short-term and potentially out-of-town assignments. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office. Travel requirement: regular travel to field and client sites during peak season. Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project and team needs . Work e nvironment : ability to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions and terrain .
