About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern for our office in Austin, Texas to support our Water Resources practice in the Austin Metro Area and Central Texas region. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing specific tasks and limited portions of broader assignments and will receive close supervision, guidance, and mentoring from experienced engineers in the office. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field.
Must have completed at least 2 years of study.
Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with a Master’s degree are eligible to apply.
Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
US Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS.
Experience/interest in hydrology and hydraulics.
Experience/interest in stormwater management.
Experience/interest in green infrastructure / low impact development.
Experience/interest in civil infrastructure design.
