About The Position
The Water Resources Engineering Intern will join the Transportation team in Houston, Texas, for Summer 2027. Working with and receiving mentorship from engineering associates, the intern will assist with design and plan preparation for stormwater management and drainage projects. The position offers hands-on experience and exposure to the Transportation and Water Resources Engineering industries.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including intermediate-level technical writing and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
- Drainage software experience.
- Experience or exposure to Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) plans preparation and design standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with stormwater management, drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water quality modeling, and environmental permitting.
- Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Gather and provide data for engineering reports and studies.
- Perform and review design calculations.
