The Intermediate Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for designing drainage and stormwater management systems for major infrastructure projects in Ontario. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions and designs. The position is part of the Mobility Global Business Area, which partners with clients globally to design thriving and connected cities and communities, addressing the evolving demands of climate change, urbanization, and digitization by creating connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies to optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Engineering diploma or CET can be considered, based on relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drainage design, grading and stormwater measures, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads), and GIS applications.
  • Design experience with drainage area maps, storm sewers and appurtenances/elements related with stormwater.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Help design and develop practical drainage and stormwater management systems for a range of infrastructure projects.
  • Support work in areas like hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater controls, and erosion prevention using technical skills.
  • Help manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Check that all designs follow local, provincial, and federal regulations and align with industry best practices.
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team to fit drainage solutions into overall project designs.
  • Visit project sites to carry out inspections and assessments, checking the quality and performance of drainage systems.
  • Help prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications to support project delivery.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, helping to build a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Share knowledge to support professional development within the team and contribute to successful project outcomes.
