About The Position

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with 4-10 years of experience to support our Water Resources Group in our Kansas City office. In this role, you will perform analysis and design as a Project Engineer on challenging water resource projects for municipal clients and assist other divisions within the firm as needed. You will work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering
4-10 years of increasingly responsible, professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water resource-related projects
Missouri Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain within 6 months

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree with an emphasis in Hydrology and/or Hydraulics (or related)

Responsibilities

Provide project engineering and task management on water resources design projects.
Supervise and delegate work to junior engineers and support staff for hydraulic engineering tasks.
Conduct stormwater collection systems modeling and design.
Perform floodplain, inundation, and hydrologic studies.
Perform sediment transport and scour analyses.
Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
Collect, evaluate, and present data in technical reports and oral presentations.
Assist in the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structures.
Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams of geomorphologists, biologists, planners, emergency managers, and additional hydraulic and water resources engineers.
Contribute to business development, marketing, and proposal preparation efforts.
