RS&H is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer II to join our Transportation Practice in our Orlando, FL office. This role provides professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects, often requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures and independently applying advanced engineering concepts and designs. The engineer may serve as the team expert and/or project lead on large, complex multidiscipline projects. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating engineering reports, plans and specification criteria for a variety of projects, engineering design and facility development, design detailing, code and criteria analysis, construction document production, and construction administration. The role involves coordinating with a diversified project team, including development of client communication, proposal coordination, marketing, presentations, and management of other discipline-related activities. The engineer will prepare specifications, scaled drawings and proposals, and ensure finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction. They may review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments and meet with clients to determine objectives and requirements. This position involves reviewing junior staff's work for technical accuracy and providing technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. The engineer may also lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects, perform quality control reviews, and ensure achievement of key milestones. Field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects will be performed as needed to maintain and increase understanding of construction practices and design applications. Maintaining professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements is essential. The engineer must remain knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances pertinent to their discipline. Direct reports may be supervised, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management. All other duties as assigned and within scope of practice will be performed.
