About The Position

RS&H is currently seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join their team in either their St. Charles or Chicago, IL office. This role involves technical guidance to junior-level staff, reviewing their work for technical accuracy, and working on major or multiple moderate-size projects. The position requires strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program and minimum seven years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Proficient in production software, construction document production, and the preparation of engineering reports.
  • Experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects.
  • Experience using ICPR, SWMMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, SRH-2D, and ArcGIS products
  • Plan production utilizing OpenRoads Designer, SUDA, and/or Civil 3D
  • Prior experience with IDOT projects

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications like a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
  • Completed advanced training in SRH-2D

Responsibilities

  • Watershed delineation and determination of hydrological parameters
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Stormwater drainage analysis and design
  • Preparation of Contract Plans, Specifications, Estimates, and Permit Applications
  • Providing technical guidance to junior-level staff, including reviewing others' work for technical accuracy
