Water Resources Design Engineer
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a Water Resources Design Engineer. The role is responsible for engineering design using general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. The position includes work on storm drainage and stormwater management systems, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, erosion and sediment control plans, inspections, permits, cost estimates, specifications, and construction documents. The role coordinates with internal team members to complete projects by established deadlines and quality standards. Immigration sponsorship or support, including H-1B and F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, is unavailable for this position except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and design storm drainage systems.
- Analyze and design stormwater management practices.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
- Develop erosion and sediment control plans.
- Inspect and assess constructed stormwater management practices.
- Complete permit applications for state and local agencies.
- Apply general engineering principles and practices in daily work.
- Develop construction cost estimates and specifications.
- Assist in preparing engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
- Coordinate with internal team members to complete projects by defined deadlines and established quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
