About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Entry-Level Water Resources Dam Safety Engineer to join the East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. This position will report to the AECOM offices in the East Region including Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Water Resources Engineering.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Nice To Haves

Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam or ability to complete within 6 months of initial hire.
Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote.
Interest in dams and other hydraulic structures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in relevant water resources engineering software programs such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS Pro.
Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to dam project managers, including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams.
Performing dam analysis and design such as hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, inspection and maintenance plans, emergency action plans, dam breach analyses, and alternative analyses.
Preparing drawings and figures using AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and other software for dam projects.
Preparing and writing technical reports for dam projects.
Conducting field observations and site visits for dam safety inspections and dam construction oversight.
Progression toward greater responsibility, including task and project management and certification as a professional engineer.
Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects.
Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
