About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) efforts across a wide range of land development projects. This role requires someone who has successfully delivered projects from concept through permitting and into construction, understanding how modeling decisions impact grading, cost, and constructability, and can apply that knowledge in a practical, real-world way. The engineer will play a key role in shaping site design, guiding project strategy, and helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • 8+ years of experience in hydrologic/hydraulic engineering within land development or related fields
  • Proven track record of projects that have been permitted and constructed
  • Strong experience with ICPR and BMPTrains (HEC-RAS, SWMM a plus)
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS for data development and model inputs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to collaborate with local, state, and federal review agencies.
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment to evaluate solutions and make decisions.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • A proactive, positive, and team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FEMA permitting and floodplain coordination
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D

Responsibilities

  • Lead hydrologic and hydraulic design from concept through permitting and construction support
  • Develop practical, buildable stormwater and flood mitigation solutions—not just theoretical models
  • Prepare and oversee H&H analyses using tools such as ICPR, HEC-RAS, and SWMM
  • Design and evaluate stormwater treatment systems to meet state and local regulatory requirements, including nutrient reduction and water quality criteria
  • Design stormwater treatment systems to meet FDEP, WMD, and local regulatory requirements
  • Build defensible models using real-world data, GIS inputs, and sound engineering judgment
  • Collaborate closely with civil/site teams to align grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting strategies
  • Support projects during construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing field conditions, and adjusting designs as needed
  • Serve as a technical leader and internal resource for water resources across multiple projects
  • Mentor junior staff and provide quality control on modeling and design deliverables
  • Translate complex H&H analyses into clear, actionable insights for clients and stakeholders
