About The Position

This position helps manage, provide and maintain water resource assets for facilities which give Church members places where they can worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Under the guidance of the Water Resources Manager and within industry-related and Church-established standards, this position manages, protects, and optimizes Church owned water resource assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum Six years' experience working as a water resources engineer, geologist, or hydrologist.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for protecting water resource assets, supporting regulatory compliance, advising on liability mitigation, and realizing value related to Church-held water assets.
  • Manage Church-held water assets for beneficial use, including development and implementation of water management plans and preparation of required water use reports.
  • Represent the Church in water rights adjudications, regulatory proceedings, and permitting processes; coordinate with legal counsel and risk management on compliance and litigation support.
  • Provide technical leadership on water resource issues, including review of hydrologic, geologic, and hydrogeologic analyses and oversight of related field investigations.
  • Support and execute water resource transactions associated with land acquisitions, dispositions, leases, use agreements, and donations, in accordance with Church policies and approvals.
  • Plan, lead, and deliver water resource projects, including consultant oversight, scope control, budget management, and expense approvals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on water resources to Church departments, Areas, and related entities.
  • Monitor water resource laws, regulations, and policy trends; advise NRS leadership; support budget development, revenue tracking, sustainability initiatives, and staff training.
  • Supervise 1 to 2 Church Service Missionaries, Full-time Missionaries or a Full-time Employee assigned to support the Water Resources Team
