About The Position

This position oversees Water Quality Specialists who carry out investigations, inspections, and compliance activities related to Clean Water programs. It ensures that field operations are effective, safe, and consistent with state policies. As a Water Quality Specialist Supervisor, you will perform the following duties: Staff Leadership: Guide Water Quality Specialists by assigning work, reviewing reports, and coaching field performance. Inspection Oversight: Review facility operations and inspection results to ensure adherence to procedures and environmental regulations. Program Coordination: Support planning, reporting, and communication activities that improve the performance of Clean Water programs. Incident Response: Coordinate investigations of spills, pollution incidents, and other emergencies that may affect public health or the environment. Enforcement Support: Review violations, prepare referrals, and collaborate with enforcement staff to resolve compliance issues. Training Management: Assess staff training needs and implement development plans that strengthen skills and field readiness.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Water Quality Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges and abilities
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
