The Water Quality Compliance Coordinator supports the safe, compliant operation of the University of Iowa water systems by coordinating water quality sampling, laboratory result management, and regulatory documentation. A typical day includes performing and coordinating sampling across treatment, distribution, and point ‑ of ‑ use systems; tracking, reviewing, and trending laboratory results; and distributing data to operations, compliance, and campus stakeholders. The role works closely with the Water Production Manager, High ‑ Quality Water (HQW) Group, certified laboratories, and regulatory agencies to ensure accurate data, defensible records, and timely reporting. This position directly supports compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Water Act, and associated state permits while promoting consistent testing, documentation, and continuous improvement practices. The role has no direct reports but collaborates regularly with operations, compliance, and technical teams.
