About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Project Supervisor to join our Water Project Team in Bridgeport, NJ. The Water Supervisor will operate on-site, supervising crews of Environmental Technicians for various water project sites. This role will also support upcoming water construction projects in New Jersey and requires travel within the CONUS and globally as needed. The estimated total compensation ranges from $90,000 to $140,000 annually, with a base hourly pay of $26-32/HR DOE. Opportunities for overtime exist, and a per diem of $55+/day is provided while traveling. The typical work schedule involves 6+ weeks on the road followed by 1 week home. East Coast locations are preferred, with other locations considered on a case-by-case basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations.
  • Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Available for 24 hour, on-call basis.
  • Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental studies preferred.
  • Experience working with water treatment, building filtration systems, working in wastewater treatment plants highly preferred.
  • Water certifications are a plus.
  • Strong mechanical ability preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemicals preferred.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Supervises multiple employees on water projects.
  • Assures all associated paperwork as required for operations is maintained and submitted immediately after project operations have been completed.
  • Ensures that supervised operations staff meets all compliance standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
