This position helps protect public health by supporting statewide Safe Drinking Water Program operations through assessments, compliance work and technical guidance. It ensures consistent implementation of rules, procedures and data practices across the program.

Requirements

  • Three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate surveillance, compliance, and enforcement activities for statewide drinking water operations
  • Create and update rules, policies, and procedures related to water system monitoring and reporting
  • Audit information in PADWIS and eFACTS to identify issues and recommend corrections
  • Teach field staff and regulated parties proper techniques and requirements for program compliance
  • Prepare analyses and activity reports that identify trends and propose improvements
  • Represent the Commonwealth at meetings and explain state and federal regulations to various audiences
