About The Position

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Water Process Engineer to support the delivery of advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This role supports the Lead Water Process Engineer by providing technical expertise in the design and execution of ultra‑pure water (UPW), industrial wastewater, and process waste treatment systems critical to semiconductor fabrication. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience working with UPW and wastewater treatment technology suppliers, understands semiconductor waste streams, and has supported projects from early design through commissioning and startup. This role requires strong technical capability, collaborative execution, and effective coordination with internal teams and external partners. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience in semiconductor industries.
Experience with fab expansions, greenfield projects, or retrofit designs.
Experience with UPW systems and semiconductor wastewater treatment technologies.
In-depth knowledge of Semiconductor Industry Process Water and Wastewater systems including Waste Collection, Waste Treatment (pH Neutralization, Fluoride/Copper Removal), Biological Treatment, and Water Reclaim, High Purity Water, and Industrial Chemicals.
Familiarity working with technology suppliers and integrating proprietary systems into EPC designs.
Solid understanding of process engineering fundamentals and multidisciplinary project execution.
Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Pipe Flo, Aspen Plus, and Excel.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in client facing and team oriented environments.

Responsibilities

Support the Lead Water Process Engineer in executing process engineering scope for UPW and semiconductor wastewater systems on EPC projects.
Develop, review, and coordinate process design deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and operating philosophies.
Support the specification, evaluation, and integration of UPW and wastewater treatment technologies in collaboration with licensed suppliers and OEMs.
Assist with waste stream characterization and treatment design for fluoride, copper, and specialty semiconductor wastes.
Ensure designs align with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (SEMI, IBC, IFC, EPA, DOT, OSHA).
Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, construction, and commissioning to support project execution and startup activities.
Participate in technical discussions with clients, vendors, and third parties under the direction of the Lead Engineer.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing initiatives.
