About The Position

Start a career path in the utility industry as a Water Meter Reader! This is a full-time position offering $17.00 per hour with incentives available. Training is provided, and no experience is required. The role involves performing daily start-up procedures for uploading route assignments, accurately reading water meters on a daily assigned route, maintaining contact with supervisors, downloading devices daily, reporting missed readings, and performing other duties as requested by supervision or management. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to all Scope safety rules, driving laws and regulations, and client safety procedures. Assistance to coworkers in reading meters may also be required.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must possess a good driving record and valid driver’s license
• Must complete a DOT drug screen
• Good Attendance

Nice To Haves

• Ability to utilize navigation tools such as Toughbook's, handhelds and maps
• Possess good customer service skills
• Hand tools: 1 year (Preferred)
• Outdoor work: 1 year (Preferred)
• Able to work independently and as a Team

Responsibilities

• Performs daily start-up procedures for uploading route assignments
• Accurately read all water meter on a daily assigned route
• Keep in contact with the Supervisor and/or Manager as directed in training
• Downloads device daily and report to Supervisor missed readings and why they were missed prior to leaving
• Performs other duties as specifically requested by supervision or management
• Follow all Scope safety rules, driving laws and regulations, and the client’s safety procedures.
• Required to assist coworkers in reading meters if needed
